Spain: Nearly 3m FTTH lines

The development of FTTH in Spain is growing significantly with 2.95 million lines as of November 2015 gaining 178,491 new lines the previous month.
The latest figures from the CNMC reveal that FTTH already represents 22.5 per cent of the total 13.13 million broadband lines in the country, with an increase of 102.3 per cent over the last year. Telefonica is the absolute leader with almost 2.1 million FTTH lines.
Overall, the broadband market is up 4.1 per cent year-on-year with 28.3 lines per each 100 inhabitants. Vodafone and Orange led the gains in broadband lines with 31,900 and 20,300 lines, respectively, followed by Telefonica with 13,200 and Jazztel with 2,500 whereas ONO lost 7,400 lines. In the broadband market, Telefonica has a share market of 44.13 per cent, followed by Orange 16.22 per cent, ONO with 12.41 per cent, Jazztel with 12.24 per cent and Vodafone with 10.01 per cent.
