SoftAtHome further collaborates with Amazon Alexa

SoftAtHome, an independent software company for broadband, video, and analytics, announced new voice control features now available on many devices, with demos available on smart speakers, traditional set-top boxes and now Home Gateways and repeaters. SoftAtHome joined the Amazon Alexa Solution Provider network in 2021.
End-users are more and more using their voice as a more convenient way of managing their devices. With the deployments of its Watch’ON solutions in several European markets, SoftAtHome is a leading player in voice control integration into devices in the home using far-field and push-to-talk and running on RDK, Android or Linux OS. SoftAtHome previously integrated Alexa Built In smart speakers with Orange and Deutsche Telekom and have integrated Ring doorbell interoperability for the set-top-box. SoftAtHome now announced an off-the-shelf solution to expand Alexa voice control to Home Gateways and Wi-Fi repeaters to increase home coverage beyond the living-room. It enables voice as an additional feature to manage existing Wi-Fi repeaters, and provides more connectivity use cases to the home.

The comprehensive V2.6, released at NAB 2022, includes a new annex on NGA Production workflow tools and real-world examples, updated to color accuracy in converting between SDR/HDR and HDR/SDR, and an update to Brazil’s next-generation broadcast technologies. The new version also includes essential information on single stream HDR/SDR workflows from Comcast NBCUniversal and an improved definition of HDR. Many updates throughout the document include IP production technologies, UHD terrestrial broadcasting, NGA audio trials, etc.
