Disney+ confirms host of new titles and premiere dates for 2023

Disney+ has confirmed more titles set to premiere exclusively on the streaming service in the UK & Ireland in 2023, including documentary and UK Original “Wagatha Christie” (working title)with Coleen Rooney, and Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ “Loki” (6 October) starring Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino. Also lined up is a third season of hit original comedy series “Only Murders in the Building” (8 August) starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. The much-anticipated FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” (Season 2) will continue to follow Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ journey with Wrexham AFC, while FX’s critically-acclaimed original series “The Bear” returns to Chicago, with Carmy and his crew working to transform their grimy sandwich shop into a next-level spot.
The highly anticipated UK local original series “The Full Monty” launches on 14 June, taking place 25 years after the original British smash-hit. Additional UK Originals confirmed to join the slate for 2023 include “Culprits”, a darkly funny series starring Nathan Stewart Jarrett (“Generation”) and Gemma Arterton (“Funny Woman”), and “Brawn; The Impossible Formula 1 Story” (working title), a British sporting story told by Keanu Reeves. EMEA Originals include animated sci-fi anthology “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire” (5 July), executive-produced by OSCAR®-winning director Peter Ramsey, from creators across Zimbabwe, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Egypt, plus Italian series “Lions of Sicily”, based on Stefania Auci’s bestseller “The Florios of Sicily”, which follows two small spice merchants in search of social redemption.
Following on from Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” joining the platform in May, June features a unique line-up of the latest blockbusters for customers to enjoy, including James Cameron’s global phenomenon “Avatar: The Way Of Water” (7 June) and original movie “Flamin’ Hot” (9 June), directed by Eva Longoria. Marvel Studios’ espionage thriller “Secret Invasion” (starring Samuel L. Jackson) will also be available to stream from 21 June.

FX’s “The Bear” (Season 2) is back, following Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). FX’s “The Bear” is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of Sense of Urgency – and its steep slippery downsides. FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham”, a football docuseries, will also return for Season 2.
Comedic murder-mystery series “Only Murders in the Building” (8 August), from the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman and John Hoffman returns with Season 3. Coming in 2023 includes “Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs”, which follows 10 Muslim American sisters whose faith and bonds are put to the ultimate test while trying to navigate cultural expectations, their careers and love in Los Angeles; comedy film “Miguel Wants to Fight” (August, 2023) about a high school senior who encounters a series of hilarious misadventures as he tries to get into his first ever fight; and “The Jewel Thief”, an unbelievable firsthand account of Gerald Blanchard, one of the most accomplished criminal masterminds in modern history.
Marvel
“Loki” will continue on 6 October, acting as Marvel Studios’ first-ever second season of a series. It features Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, picking up immediately where Season 1 left off.
“Echo” will arrive on 29 November, with all episodes dropping that day. The series tells the origin story of Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Warrior. Outcast. Rebel. Jedi. “Ahsoka” arrives in August 2023. Set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
Pixar
“Win or Lose” (December, 2023) is Pixar’s first official longform episodic series that has been confirmed for Disney+. The series follows the intertwined stories of different characters as they each prepare for a big championship softball game.
National Geographic
Bertie Gregory will return to Disney+ in 2023 with a second season of “Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory”, which takes viewers on epic and nail-biting journeys that push into the most spectacular and secretive corners of our wild world.
Disney branded TV
The Wildcats of East High will also return to Disney+ with a fourth season of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”.
