May 31, 2023
The EBU has announced the appointment of Michelle Roverelli as the new Director of Member Relations and Communications.
Currently Head of Communications, Marketing and Events at the EBU, Roverelli has effectively collaborated with public service media (PSM) organisations across Europe, strengthening the EBU’s relations with Members and working with them on joint campaigns and media outreach on the value of PSM. She founded the Member Voice of PSM group, managed the communications and marketing teams and delivered an annual extensive events portfolio, including General Assemblies.
In her new role as a member of the senior leadership team, Roverelli will be responsible for Member and Institutional relations, ensuring the delivery of the EBU value proposition, while continuing to lead Marketing and Communications for the organisation.
Noel Curran, Director General of the EBU, said: “I’m delighted to see Michelle step into this role. She has been a central part of the team that has transformed our relationship with Members in recent years and she has clear strategies to continue to advance this transformation. She is dynamic, innovative and a real champion of PSM. She knows the EBU and our Members intimately, together with the issues that we are grappling with and she will bring huge energy to finding solutions.”
Roverelli added: “EBU Members are some of the world’s most trusted, creative and innovative media organizations that together reach an audience of more than a billion people. I am honored and excited to take on this role to help support and strengthen public service media now and for the future. I look forward to working with Members and EBU colleagues to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities ahead in a rapidly changing media landscape.”
Initially joining the EBU in 2007 as a Senior Communications Officer, Roverelli has worked her way up through the organisation, adding responsibility, partnering with senior leaders and always supporting Members. Prior to joining the EBU she held senior roles in two global public affairs and communications consultancies. She also has extensive experience in influential lobbies in Brussels.
Roverelli will take up her new position in September 2023.
