Italy: TIM rolls out 10Gb superfibre

Italian telco TIM is moving forward with the deployment of new generation networks and services in Italy, and is taking high-performance FTTH fibre connections of up to 10 gigabits per second to homes thanks to XGS-PON technology (10 Gigabit capable Symmetric Passive Optical Network).
TIM says it is already bringing this technology to 4.2 million homes in over 30 cities with a deployment plan that will allow an increasing number of Italian households to access the best navigation performances.
Customers can now subscribe to the new ‘All Inclusive’ fibre offer from the TIM WiFi Power range with speeds of up to 10 Gigabit per second in download and 2 Gigabit in upload/ Moreover, thanks to the new TIM 10Gb modem with an integrated 10 Gb optical connector, standard WiFi 6 4×4 (at 2.4 GHz and at 5 GHz), 1 10 Gb port, 4 Gb-Eth ports, 2 USB 3.1 ports and the most advanced market standards, customers can simultaneously connect over 100 devices, fully exploiting the new technology’s potential.
