Michel Azibert has retired from his deputy-CEO role at Eutelsat.
He has been in the role since 2019 and his departure was effective on November 10th following Eutelsat’s AGM. The news was not made public until an official notification was issued on December 2nd.
The notification concerned his final compensation and salary entitlements along with his entitlement to certain shares and bonus payments. Eutelsat, in its statement, praised his “remarkable commitment” to the growth of the business over the past 11 years.
Azibert will be entitled to 81,323 shares under the company’s 2020 share allocation for senior staff, and another 25,386 shares under its 2021 scheme.
Eutelsat has already named Laurence Delpy as GM of its video business unit and Cyril Dujardin as GM of its connectivity business unit.
Eutelsat described the new appointments as being at the core of its telecom pivot, which it said will be further strengthened by the combination of Eutelsat and OneWeb announced in July.
