October 4, 2010
Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers, has been selected by Argentina’s largest cable network operator, Telecentro, to expand its VoIP communications services to subscribers using the SAFARI C“ Multimedia Switching System. This network expansion will more than triple the capacity of the Safari C3’s currently installed in the Telecentro network and support their rapid growth plans over the next year.
Under the terms of the agreement, Telecentro will significantly increase its SAFARI C3 network and expand its coverage beyond the city of Buenos Aires. In addition to offering it’s Triple Play services to residential customers, Telecentro will broaden its market coverage to include small and medium enterprises.
Telecentro selected the SAFARI C3 due to its scalability and compact form factor, which enables it to deliver compelling total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits that minimize an operator’s initial outlay of capital and lowers operations costs. In addition, the SAFARI C3 provides a flexible and cost effective migration path to PacketCable 2.0, which will enable Telecentro to rapidly develop and deliver next-generation services.
“Our experience with Cedar Point over the past several years, has been very positive and has greatly contributed to the growth of our business”, said Jorge Méndez Valle, president of Telecentro. “This positive experience with Cedar Point, has solidified our decision to continue working with them as our provider for residential telephony, and given us the confidence to utilize them as our provider for business telephony as we expand into the small and medium enterprise market. Cedar Point has vast experience in configuring and implementing VoIP networks and the SAFARI C3 is the simplest, lowest cost, and most effective platform that we can use to offer our customers high quality, highly available services.”

Cedar Point is excited to continue its work on the residential side and looks forward to collaborating with Telecentro as it pursues the small and medium size business market.”
